The Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA), a charity which gives disabled people life-changing experiences involving horses and horse-riding, is celebrating after receiving a donation of £80,000.
Para-Equestrian Dressage rider Anne Dunham MBE was named Disabled Sportswoman of the Year at the 2011 Sunday Times Sportswomen of the Year Awards last night at The Sunday Times offices in London.
Twenty London families were able to receive free horse riding and stable management lessons led by Britain's Team Gold Medalist from the recent European Dressage Championships, Emile Faurie, over the October half term holidays.
Holly Valance was 'rescued' by London horse Purdey on Strictly Come Dancing when her usual professional partner, Artem Chigvintsev had to bow out due to a back injury, with a clip of Purdey and Brendan's 'rescue' being shown on Saturday's show.
