What is para dressage?
Probably one of the more established disability sports on offer, para-equestrian dressage is the only equestrian discipline competed for at the Paralympic Games.
Para-equestrian dressage offers competitive dressage opportunities for riders with disabilities. Riders are classified within five disability grades; this is so that during competition riders are competing as fairly as possible against others of a similar disability level. The grades range from Ia (those with disabilities that impact more severely on their riding) through to IV (less disabled).
There are numerous ways to get involved with para-equestrian dressage - why not have a look at what's on offer at your local RDA centre or take a look at how to get started on the British Dressage website.
